The Problem
We visited a school where we are to facilitate our programmes next year.
There were not enough desks in the school.
The children use tyres as the base and place a plank on top in order for them to sit to learn.
How can JSS 1 students start their secondary school experience sitting on bare floors or planks?
Imagine having to sit on a hard dusty floor for several hours a day while trying to learn.
There is no desk to place their school books in order to write in. They have to place their books on their laps.
This stress has discouraged some of the students from attending classes regularly.
Our Solution
We want to take the first step in providing 200 sets for this school.
With your help, we can provide desks for children, so that they can be in a more conducive environment to learn.
Many other children who come after them, years after will still enjoy the desks.
How You Can Help
It cost about N10,000 ($30) to make a school desk set (table and chair) that can sit two children.
Join us as we give the classrooms a MAKEOVER this holiday.
Let them resume school in 2020 in a better learning environment.
Our goal is to raise N2,000,000 ($6,000) by December 31, 2019 to purchase desk sets (tables and chairs) to fit into classrooms and ensure that 400 children enjoy a better learning experience when they resume in January 2020.
